Yorkshire Terrier

The Yorkshire first appeared in the 19th century in the United Kingdom, when a small breed of Terrier began to be developed, used for hunting rats. In 1860 the Yorkshire Terrier that we know today was officially introduced and became so popular that it swept through various shows and competitions.

The Yorkshire Terrier is one of the most common dogs in homes, its affectionate and playful character makes it excellent for living with all kinds of families as it adapts wonderfully to any environment.

Features

The main characteristics are determined by the breed standard, which provides for the following peculiarities:

01. Size

This breed is noted for its small size. The maximum height is about 30 centimetres and an average weight of 3.2 kilograms.

02. Body and coat

It has a compact body, with an abundance of fine, glossy, medium-long hair, varying between blue-black, grey and golden shades.

03. Behaviour

It stands out for being an intelligent, lively and overprotective dog. In general we are talking about a very affectionate dog, attached to his family, easy to deal with and really very affectionate.



04. Perfect for allergy sufferers

It is a breed known for being hypoallergenic, as it loses little hair and retains certain properties in its dermis, it does not usually provoke allergic reactions easily, which is beneficial for allergy sufferers.

05. longevity

It is one of the longest-lived breeds, with a life expectancy of 13 to 16 years.
